Dancing With The Stars Winner:Dwts Winner

Posted on 26 May 2010 by Bilal

Dancing With The Stars Winner:Dwts Winner:Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough beat out Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya for the 'Dancing with the Stars' trophy. You guys! It's the finale of Dancing With the Stars. From the first dance, 10 weeks ago, it was clear who the finalists should be: Olympic ice-skating champion Evan Lysacek and pop entertainer Nicole Scherzinger. Still, Tuesday night's finale of f' 10th season was the most dramatic in the competition's history.

While Scherzinger showed why judge Carrie Ann Inaba declared her "the best dancer ever" in the show's history, there was no way you could discount Lysacek's chances. Olympic champions and handsome men have always had a decided advantage with DWTS viewers, and Scherzinger faced a season-long rap among hardcore fans that her extensive dancing experience made her the show's "ringer."

When Shcerzinger and partner Derek Hough blazed through their last-dance jive and earned a perfect 30, head judge Len Goodman went so far as to declare, "There's only one winner, and it should be you."

Of course, a moment later, when Lysacek and his partner, Anna Trebunskaya, whirled through a seamless high-step, he exclaimed, "Evan, you're a joy to watch."

With Scherzinger leading by 7 points with the judges, the decision came down to the viewers' votes.

The complaint often directed at Dancing With the Stars is that it's a popularity contest rather than a dance competition, but Tuesday night turned that reputation on its head as Scherzinger was named this season's champion, winning the show's coveted mirrored-ball trophy.

Talent, dazzling and undeniable, won out, but Lysacek took his loss with the style and elegance that have been his trademark all season. Scherzinger, meanwhile, was busy screaming victoriously and kissing the mirrored ball.
